Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Project Simeon 2000?

Project Simeon 2000 is a group of like minded Simeon alumni who believe that supporting current Simeon students means ACTION! Our goal is to provide team building, leadership development and mentoring to every Simeon student by providing current Simeon students opportunities to use their academic knowledge and skills.

Where does Project Simeon 2000 see themselves in the future?

As a community organization, Project Simeon 2000 has huge goals for the future. Our hope is that in partnership with businesses in the neighboring community, Simeon alumni and supporters such as yourself, we can offer every Simeon student the opportunity to see themselves as part of a much larger picture. Our hope is that as long as Simeon is a vocational school, we will continue to offer opportunities for current Simeon students to practice and hone their skills in a safe and structured environment.

How can I contribute to the focus of Project Simeon 2000?

We’re glad you asked! If you are interested in donating your time, talent or treasure to the goals of Project Simeon 2000, please click here. As a 501 ©3 organization, any monetary donations you make are tax deductible.

Why should I join the Project Simeon 2000 listserve?

As a supporter of both Simeon High School and current Simeon students, joining the Project Simeon 2000 listserve is one way to stay informed of events, activities and projects taking place at the Simeon Alumni Village.

What and where is the Simeon Alumni Village?

The Simeon Alumni Village is located at 820 W. 89th Street, right off 89th and Halsted. This is the home of Project Simeon 2000. If you are looking to host a community event, private reception or function, please give us a call to see if we’re available on that date. We are reasonably priced and would love to have you!

But I’m already on the Simeon Alumni Association listserve, isn’t that the same thing?

Excellent question! The Simeon Alumni Association and Project Simeon 2000 are actually two separate organizations. If you are interested in hearing about cultural and other events such as comedy shows, open mic events or projects for Simeon students, then you should definitely join the Project Simeon 2000 listserve!

I already get enough spam in my inbox, am I going to get daily emails from Project Simeon 2000?

Absolutely not! We understand the enormous amount of junk emails you receive and we are not trying to add to them. Project Simeon 2000 only sends one email per week in a newsletter format listing the upcoming events for that month.

Do I have to be a Simeon alumni in order to support Project Simeon 2000?

Not at all! We welcome support from any individual or organization in time, talent or treasure – provided we do not have conflicting goals or mission statements.
